2012 PRESEASON: Named to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-CAA First Team.

2011: Named to the All-CAA Second Team...Started all 13 games...helped anochor an offensive line that produced the first 3,000-yard passer in school history (Warren Smith) and a 1,000-yard rusher (Pushaun Brown)...the line gave up a league-low 1.54 sacks per game. 

2010: Saw action in eight games, starting in six . . . helped an offensive line give up a CAA-low 12 sacks. 

2009: Started the last eight games of the season . . . named the team’s Thurlow Cooper Offensive Rookie of the Year . . . part of a line that helped produce the top passing offense in the CAA (247.6 ypg).

BEFORE MAINE/PERSONAL: Played on both the offensive and defensive line for coach Kevin Cooper at Bonny Eagle H.S. … served as a captain … was part of a Bonny Eagle program that captured four Gold Ball state titles in five years … a two-time all-state offensive lineman … also earned all-conference honors on the offensive front … won the Gerry Raymond Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award for Southern Maine … earned academic all-conference honors … was a member of his high school’s Honor Roll for four years … born Feb. 25, 1991 … son of Jeffrey and Heidi Spearin … a wildlife ecology major ... older brother Matt played two seasons as an offensive lineman on the Black Bear football team.
