2012 PRESEASON: Named to the Sports Network Preseason All-American Second Team, the Beyond Sports Network Preseason All-American Second Team, the College Sports Madness Preseason All-CAA First Team and the All-CAA Preseason Team as voted on by CAA coaches and sports information personnel.
2011: Named to the All-CAA First Team, the New England Football Writers All-New England Team, an ECAC Second Team All-Star...anochored an offensive line that produced the first 3,000-yard passer in school history (Warren Smith) and a 1,000-yard rusher (Pushaun Brown)...the line gave up a league-low 1.54 sacks per game.
2011 PRESEASON: Named to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-CAA First Team . . . also named Phil Steele Preseason Fouth Team All-American . . . named a Consensus Draft Services Preseason All-American honorable mention.
2010: Started all 11 games . . . named to the All-CAA Third Team . . . anchored a line that gave up a league-low 12 sacks.
2009: Saw action in nine games, starting in eight . . . helped anchor an offensive line that produced the most prolific passing offense in the CAA (247.7 ypg).
2008: Sat out the season as a redshirt … has four years of eligibility remaining.
BEFORE MAINE/PERSONAL: Played on the offensive and defensive lines for coach Pete Goetz at Triton H.S. ... served as a captain during his senior season ... helped lead his team to back-to-back Olympic Conference championships in 2005-06 ... also helped lead his team to state playoff appearances each of those two seasons ... during his junior season, he earned all-conference honors and was voted his team’s most improved player ... during his senior season, he earned first-team all-conference and all-state honors ... he was named the Touchdown Club of South Jersey’s 2007 Lineman of the Year ... he also earned all-south Jersey honors from the Philadelphia Inquirer ... also wrestled for his high school team ... won the 2006 Olympic Conference heavyweight championship ... won the 2007 Black Horse Pike Regional Outstanding Contributor to the Community Award ... born Jan. 23, 1990 ... son of Christopher and Deborah Howley, stepfather is Charles Cook ... a secondary education major/history.
