2010: Was working his way back from an arm injury... saw action in six games... pitched a season-high two innings against Thomas (4/7)... struck out a pair of batters in Maine’s win over UMBC (5/22)... named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award winner. 

2009: Sat out the season as a medical redshirt... named to the America East Academic Honor Roll...  named to the America East Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.

2008: Saw action in 16 games for the Black Bears, earning three starts... his 16 appearances were second on the team... was 3-1 on the season with a 5.45 ERA... pitched a season-high six innings in Maine’s game against Stony Brook (4/27) where he struck out a career-high seven batters... earned first career win in Maine’s 3-2 victory over Wagner (3/30)... also earned wins over NJIT (4/5) and Thomas (4/22)... picked up a save in Maine’s 3-1 win over America East rival Stony Brook (4/25)... named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.

BEFORE MAINE: Captain at Cardinal Leger Secondary School... went 15-2 with a 1.50 ERA and five saves... was Athlete of the Year and baseball MVP at Cardinal Leger... a member of Team Canada... drafted in the Major League Baseball draft by the Philadelphia Phillies... was also drafted into the Ontario Hockey League by the Sarnia Sting... born February 9, 1989... son of Cathy Purcell and Gerry Benoit... a child development major.
