Biography

HEADING INTO 2012: A captain for the Black Bears... will start at first base... can also play in the outfield or serve as the designated hitter for the Black Bears. 

2011: Named to the America East Second Team... appeared in 49 games while starting 47 of them for Maine…batted .309 with 50 hits including nine doubles, two triples, and a team high eight home runs... drove in 25 runs…tallied a nine game hit-streak (4/24-5/8), during which he had a three-game home run streak…during a doubleheader against UMBC (5/1), he went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and a RBI... in the second game of a doubleheader went 2-for-2, scoring two runs, driving one in and drilled a home run…belted two home runs against Albany (5/7), finishing the game batting 3-for-5 with four RBI and scored two runs... hit 2-for-4 against Binghamton (5/21) with a home run, three runs batted in... blasted a three-run home run against Albany (5/27)... also amassed 325 putouts on the season... named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award winner.  

2010: Saw action in 34 games, starting 29 games... batted .299 with 21 runs and 22 RBI... had six doubles and two triples and six home runs... batted 2-for-2 against Penn (3/8)... was 3-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI in Maine’s game against Lehigh (3/28)... named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.

2009: Played in 38 games for the Black Bears, making 28 starts... batted .293 on the season with 18 runs scored and 22 RBI... had five doubles and three home runs... was 2-for-5 with three RBI in Maine’s 10-7 win over #25 Ohio State (3/7)... had three hits in back-to-back three RBI games against Hartford (4/13)...  named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.

2008: Sat out the 2008 season as a redshirt... named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.

BEFORE MAINE: Played for Coach Doug Manfredonia at Holy Cross High School... as a senior, batted .445 with four home runs and 26 RBI... was a First Team All-Brooklyn Queens honoree... also co-MVP with twin brother, Ian, his senior year... as a junior batted .465 with five home runs and 32 RBI... First Team All-City as a junior... born July 21, 1989... son of Dianne and Duane Leisenheimer... a communications major... twin brother Ian plays baseball.
