Field Hockey Announces 2025 Schedule

Orono, ME – The University of Maine field hockey team announces their 2025 schedule, which features 19 games, two of which are exhibitions. Maine will play 9 of their 17 regular season games at home.
 
The Black Bears, who went 11-9 in 2024 with a 3-3 conference record and a trip to the America East Semifinals, open up with a pair of exhibitions, one at Boston University and one at UMass on Aug. 14 and Aug. 16 before kicking off the regular season with four-straight home games to begin the regular season on Friday, Aug. 29 against Boston College.
 
Maine plays hosts to Indiana on Monday, Sept. 1, a team that the Black Bears defeated 4-2 last season in Bloomington. After hosting Quinnipiac on Friday, Sept. 5 and Stonehill on Sunday, Sept. 7, the Black Bears have a quick one-game road trip to Dartmouth on Friday, Sept. 12 before returning to Orono for their next two games against New Haven on Sunday, Sept. 14 and Northeastern on Friday, Sept. 19.
 
Maine kicks off their longest road-trip of the season on Friday, Sept. 26 as they play five-straight contests starting at Monmouth, followed by Drexel on Sunday, Sept. 28 to wrap up September.
 
The Black Bears begin the month of October with their first America East game against the Great Danes of UAlbany on Friday, Oct. 3. Over the past 10 contests, the two conference rivals are tied at a 5-5 record.
 
After a game on Sunday, Oct. 5 at Brown, Maine heads to New Hampshire for the Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle on Friday, Oct. 10. Maine is 7-2 over the past nine games against the Wildcats, including a 1-1 split in the 2024 season.
 
The Black Bears return to Orono for their final home stand of the season, a three-game set beginning on Friday Oct. 17 with the Bryant Bulldogs. Maine has an all-time record of 11-2 against the Bulldogs.
 
After taking on Boston University on Saturday, Oct. 18, Maine wraps up their home schedule against UMass Lowell on Friday, Oct. 24. Maine is 14-2 against the River Hawks all-time.
 
Maine concludes the regular season with a trip to Holy Cross on Sunday, Oct. 26 and the season finale against Vermont on Oct. 30. The Black Bears are 16-3 since the 2010 season against the Catamounts.
 
The America East Tournament is set to begin on Nov. 2 under a new format as it will no longer be a one-weekend style, but it will change to a Sunday-Tuesday-Friday Tournament as the high-seed will host the low-seed at home. The 3-seed will host the 6-seed and the 4-seed will host the 5-seed on Nov. 2, the 1-seed will host the lowest remaining seed and the 2-seed will host the other team on the 4th. The Championship is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7 at the highest remaining seeds field.
