Maine faces Boston College on Friday
ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine field hockey team defeated the Davidson Wildcats, 1-0 in overtime, on Sunday at the UMaine Field Hockey Complex.
After a scoreless regulation, Maine's Taylor Stanford would bury home a rebound in front of the cage after a Saylor Kuefler shot in the first minute of the overtime period to give Maine the 1-0 victory. Stanford's goal was her first of the season and first since 2023.
Annabel Halkes made two saves in the cage for the Black Bears for her second shutout of the season.
Maine is back in action on Friday as they travel to Boston College.
