
Kowalewski, Penty named to 2026 NFHCA Watchlist

Orono, Maine -- Nicole Kowalewski and Eloise Penty have been named to the 2026 NFHCA Watchlist, powered by Performance Sports Events (PSE).
Kowalewski and Penty are two of 212 Division I student-athletes who have been named to the watchlist.
Kowalewski had a stellar freshman season a year ago for the Black Bears, starting all 19 games at back while producing four goals and a pair of assists for 10 points. Kuefler tied for Maine's lead in scoring with 22 points as she finished the campaign with six goals and a team-high 10 assists. Penty matched for the team lead at 22 points with eight goals, six being off the penalty stroke, and six assists during the 2025 campaign.

The 2026 NFHCA Watchlist recognizes field hockey student-athletes who have demonstrated a high level of achievement and are considered among those with strong potential for NFHCA All-Region and All-American consideration this season.
Student-athletes were nominated by their NFHCA member coaches and must have earned qualifying field hockey recognition within the previous two years. Qualifying honors include NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-America, All-Conference, Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, or selection to a U.S. National or international team roster.
The Black Bears open the season on Friday, Aug. 28 when they host #8 Liberty at noon.-UMaine-
