Maine's third shutout of the season

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine field hockey program defeated Dartmouth at the UMaine Field Hockey Complex by a score of 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half of action, Maine was awarded a penalty corner in the third quarter where an Emily Chisholm shot was saved by the Dartmouth goalkeeper and the ball redirected back to Nicole Kowalewski who would score her second goal of the season to put the Black Bears out in front. Kowalewski's goal was all the Black Bears needed to capture their third shutout of the season.

Annabel Halkes made seven saves in the cage for the Black Bears for her fourth win of the season and third shutout of the season.

Maine is back in action this weekend as they hit the road to face American University on Friday and Towson on Sunday.
