Two more transfers join the Black Bears

An infielder from Saint Francis University and an infielder from Baylor make their way to Orono.

ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine softball program has added two more transfers to the program, head coach Kimberly Stiles announced on Thursday.
 
Infielder Ella Brown comes to Orono by way of Baylor University while infielder Aliya Garroway joins the Black Bears from Saint Francis University (Pa.).

Arrives at Maine after spending her 2026 freshman season at Baylor University in the Big 12 Conference … earned a spot on the Big 12 Academic Honor Roll … played club softball for Impact Gold National Ramsey 18U … also played for Klein Grand Oaks High School in Spring, Texas … was named to the 13-6A Honorable Mention squad in back-to-back seasons … earned the 2024 Grand Oaks Defensive MVP award … connected on three home runs during her senior season.

Arrives at Maine after three seasons at Saint Francis … named NEC Prime Performer three times across her career while also earning earned NFCA Top Performer recognition and NEC Player of the Week honors … two-time CSC Academic All-District Team honoree … appeared and started in all 52 games during her sophomore campaign in 2024-25, posting 22 runs scored, nine doubles, one home run and 27 RBI … as a junior, tallied 33 runs scored, six doubles, three home runs and nine RBI … as a freshman, earned NEC All-Rookie Team honors and was named NEC Rookie of the Week and NEC Prime Performer … hit .303 in 28 games and went 7-for-12 (.583) as a pinch hitter … prepped at Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, Pa., where she was a two-time All-District, All-County and All-Section selection.
