ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine softball team fell to Binghamton in the America East Championship tournament on Wednesday at the Pierre & Catherine Labat Softball Complex.

The Black Bears will now face UAlbany tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in an elimination game.Â

How it Happened
- After a scoreless first inning, Maine – playing as the visiting team -- took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Maggie Helms double down the right field line.
- It was Helms with another double in the fourth inning that drove in two more runs, giving Maine a 3-0 lead.
- The Bearcats then responded with nine runs for a 9-3 lead after four full frames.
- In the fifth inning, Maine plated two runs on a Keira Inman two-RBI single up the middle … the Bearcats then had a three-run home half to move the scoreline to 12-5.
Game Notes
- Maine is now 41-41Â in the all-time series with Binghamton.
- Kaelyn Larkin was 3-for-4 with one run scored.
- Maggie Helms was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI,
- Neve Adams was 2-for-3 with one double and one run scored.
