Orono, Maine -- The America East Conference announced on Tuesday morning that Brody Rasmussen of the University of Maine baseball program was named the conference Player of the Week following his performances against #22 Boston College and UMBC.

Rasmussen, a native of Boise, Idaho, had his best week of the season to-date as he slashed .571/.611/.714 in a 3-1 week for the Black Bears. He started his week with a 2-for-4 performance in the upset victory over #22 Boston College. He followed that with a 1-for-4 outing with a double and a run scored against UMBC on Friday before his best game of the season on Saturday. He was a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs scored, a double and three runs driven in. He wrapped up the weekend with another RBI and hit on Sunday. He is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak.
