ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine field hockey program has announced seven promotional dates on the 2025 home schedule.
The Black Bears open up the season against Boston College at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29 at the Maine Field Hockey Complex.

Aug. 29 vs. Boston College | Home Opener - Free posters
Sept. 1 vs. Indiana | Labor Day Student Brunch / Stein Stein Game - First 175 UMaine students in attendance will receive a free sandwich and prizes from Chick-Fil-A. The first 30 students to check-in at the game will receive a Maine Field Hockey Stein glass, the first Stein in our 2025 Stein Series
Sept. 5 vs. Quinnipiac | International Day - The Black Bears will honor their international student-athletes along with welcoming all UMaine international students and student groups to the game
Sept. 7 vs. Stonehill | Dog's Day Out - Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the complex with treat and bandanas offered to each pup in attendance. The Black Bears will also hold an autograph session following the conclusion of the game
Oct. 17 vs. Bryant | America East Spread Respect & Breast Cancer Awareness - Local cancer support organizations will be invited to the game as we all join together to pitch in for the fight against cancer. Fans will receive pink swag and other information giveaways detailing ways to support the fight
Oct. 18 vs. Boston University | It's Senior Day at the complex as we will honor and recognize our seniors and their families with a special pregame ceremony. The Black Bears will also hold an autograph session following the conclusion of the game
Oct. 24 vs. UMass Lowell | Homecoming -
The Black Bears will hold a special presentation pregame in which we will honor all student-athletes who competed for the Black Bears pre Title-IX. These pioneers will be officially awarded their letters for their achivements as varsity student-athletes.
