Field Hockey Heads to Boston University for Non-Conference Matchup

Maine Looks to Tie Program Record with 11-Straight Wins (2011 Black Bears)

ABOUT THE BLACK BEARS (National Rankings as of Oct. 14)

Maine is comes into the matchup against the Terriers riding the second-longest win-streak in program history with 10-consecutive victories, dating back to September 9 against Hofstra. The Black Bears will be looking to tie the program record of 11, set back in 2011.

The Black Bears have had one of the best offenses in the Nation heading into their matchup against the Terriers, as they have scored the fifth most goals per game in the country (3.27). Leading the offense has been Junior back, Poppy Lambert, whose 16 goals are top in the America East and rank her in the top-5 nationally. Assisting on a lot of those scores has been Senior midfielder, Madisyn Hartley. Hartley's 0.92 assists per game have her ranked first in nation in that category.

Mia Borley has been one of the best goalkeepers in the country this season, as she is ranked second in save percentage (.833), second in win-loss percentage (.909) and 14th in goals against average (1.163).

The Black Bears are coming off of a recent win against Bryant on Friday, Oct. 14, with a final score of 6-3. Poppy Lambert scored twice in the contest, as Madisyn Hartley, Chloe Walton, Tereza Holubcova and Kate Richardson all scored once.

ABOUT THE TERRIERS

Boston University is coming off of a loss against conference opponent Lafayette on Saturday, Oct. 15, by a final score of 2-0.

Tess Csejka ranks as the top scorer for the Terriers, as she has 15 points on the season, complied of seven goals and one assist. Payton Anderson (4G, 1A) and Martu Coulo (3G, 2A) round out the top-three point leaders for the Terriers.

In net, the Terriers have gotten a solid season out of Caroline Kelly as she has started in every contest this season for Boston University, garnering a 5-5 record with a 1.78 goals against average and a .766 save percentage.
