Halkes kept the Bulldogs at bay in the first quarter, making five saves in the first 15 minutes. Late in the second quarter, Maine would double the lead with Chisholm setting up Martha Barratt for a clean look on a penalty corner.
The second half saw Halkes make seven saves – including six in the fourth quarter – to keep Maine out in front. Kuefler then gave Maine the extra insurance goal with under a minute to play.
