Scouting the Friars
Providence College has heated up coming into the second half of the season and are coming off back to back sweeps of UMass-Lowell and the University of New Hampshire. They will look to extend their streak this coming weekend as the Black Bears invade Schneider Arena. Currently, the Friars are paced in scoring by Brian Pinho, a Washington Capitals Draft pick. The Junior Captain has tallied 24 points on the 2016-2017 season with 7 goals and 17 assists. The Friars currently have 8 scorers with double digit points and will look to find depth in scoring. Sophomore Erik Foley represented and won gold with the United States at the World Junior Championships, and has been a key contributor for the Friars, compiling 8 goals and 11 assists for 19 points. Sophomore goaltender Hayden Hawkey has played every game for the Friars this season. The Montreal Canadiens draft pick has compiled a 14-8-4 record, with a .911 save percentage and a 2.18 goals against average.
