Six Black Bears named AHCA All-American Scholars

Brandon Holt and Thomas Freel became four-time honorees.

ORONO, Maine – Six members of the 2025-26 University of Maine men's ice hockey team have been named AHCA/Krampade Division I All-American Scholars, as announced on Monday by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).

Thomas Freel and Brandon Holt were both honored for the fourth time in their career, becoming the fourth and fifth players in program history to earn All-American Scholar accolades four times. (David Breazeale, Victor Ostman, Mitchell Fossier).

To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester and had to appear in 40 percent of a team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders.
