ORONO, Maine - The Black Bears are coming off a tough weekend versus the #3/4 Boston University Terriers that saw Maine fall 4-1 and 3-1, respectively.

Blaine Byron leads the Black Bears in goals on the season with 11 and is second on the team in scoring with 25 points. Maine's Freshmen class is one of the top in the country, as they have combines for 29 goals and 31 assists for 60 points through the first half of the 2016-2017 Season. The freshmen class is led by
Chase Pearson who has combined for 10 goals and 5 assists for 15 points through his first 24 games of his college career. Getting it done defensively, Junior defenseman
Mark Hamilton is currently 1st in the country in blocked shots per game at 2.91 and is second in total blocks with 64.
Rob McGovern has carried the load between the pipes for the Black Bears and has a 7-9-3 record on the year. He currently boasts a 2.88 goals against average with a.914 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE MINUTEMEN
The University of Massachusetts is coming off a one-game weekend that saw them fall to the Boston College Eagles, 6-1. The Minutemen have a balanced scoring attack led by senior Steven Iacobellis who has combined for 5 goals and 9 assists for 14 points. Freshman Griff Jeszka currently leads the team in goals with 6. Ryan Wischow has been the freshman go to between the pipes and has combined for a 4-12-2 record, coupled with a 2.93 goals against average and .904 save percentage.
