Women’s Ice Hockey Set to Open Commemorative Forestry Jersey Auction April 10

The University of Maine women's ice hockey will open their auction of game-worn, alternate forestry jerseys from this past season on April 10. The jerseys, made possible through a partnership with KeyBank, were worn twice last season by the Black Bears, including the Maine State Pride game in Portland.

The jersey features Maine's iconic Columbia blue color scheme with white pine trees highlighted along the bottom. The Maine script logo is displayed on the front in the center of the jersey. On the shoulders of the jersey are the Maine Bear Head logo patches with a 'BLACK BEARS' nameplate on the back of each jersey.

The inspiration for the jersey stemmed from the state of Maine's emphasis and importance of the forestry industry. Maine women's ice hockey and the School of Forest Researchers collaborated on the design to highlight the forestry industry in Maine.

A portion of the profits will go to the Maine Inferno, an ice hockey association for girls of all age classifications and skill levels in Maine.

"This is a great opportunity for our fans to get their hands on commemorative jerseys while supporting our program and local youth hockey for girls. Giving back and growing the game is something our program aspires to do, and we are again very thankful for KeyBank bringing these jerseys to life," said head coach Molly Engstrom.

Jerseys will be open to the public for bidding starting on April 10 at 12:00 AM. The auction will go through Sunday, April 13 until 5:00 PM
