Orono, ME - The University of Maine baseball program is set to take on NJIT in a weekend series beginning on Friday, March 28.
All three games are scheduled to air on America East TV.
First Pitches:

A look at the Black Bears:
- Maine heads into the weekend against the Highlanders with a 5-18 record and 1-2 record in America East Action. Last weekend Maine took game one against Binghamton before losing a one-run contest on Saturday and 8-3 in a weather-shortened second game of the doubleheader.
- Brody Rasmussen leads the Black Bears in batting average with a .276 while being tied for first with 13 RBIs and tied for second with 4 home runs.
- Myles Sargent has seen his numbers jump up to a line of .273.345/.468 as he has recorded at least one hit in 12 of the last 14 games.
- Dean O'Neill leads the Black Bears with 5 home runs.
- Colin Fitzgerald is coming off of his third quality start and third win of the season last time out against Binghamton as he leads Maine starters with a 4.10 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP and 26 strikeouts.
- Tommy Martin and Sebastian Holt have been staples of the Black Bear bullpen as they sit at a 1.59 and 2.03 ERA, respectively. Holt as emerged as the closer for Maine as he has a career-best 3 saves already on the campaign.
Preview of NJIT:
- 12-11 overall and 3-0 in America East action as they swept UMBC on opening weekend.
- Hitting .274 as a team and have a 6.04 team ERA and a 1.78 team WHIP.
Recent History:
- The two sides have squared off 14 times since 2021 as Maine leads the all-time series 8-6.
- Season series was split last season as Maine won 8-0 before NJIT took the second game, 6-5.
