Box Score North Andover, MA - The University of Maine baseball team was defeated by Merrimack on Wednesday afternoon.

First Pitch: 3 P.M. (11-6 Merrimack)

First Inning: Jeremiah Jenkins got the Black Bears off to a fast start as he hit a two-run home run to left field, his 16th home run of the season. Zach Martin (2B) scored on the play.

Second Inning: Merrimack plated six runs in the bottom of the second.

Third Inning: Gabe Gifford began the third on the mound for Maine. Blaine Cockburn allowed 6 runs on 3 hits, 6 walks and 3 strikeouts in 2 innings of work.

Merrimack plated two runs in the third.

Fourth Inning: Merrimack made it 9-2 on an RBI single to right field.

Fifth Inning: Merrimack scored one unearned run.

Sixth Inning: Jake Marquez cut into the deficit as he hit his sixth home run of the season, a three-run shot to left field, scoring Jenkins (BB) and Connor Goodman (BB). It's the second-straight game Marquez has hit a home run.
