Box Score Lowell, MA - The University of Maine field hockey program was defeated by UMass Lowell on Friday afternoon, 5-1.
The River Hawks scored the opening goal in the 22' minute of the contest.
UMass Lowell scored their second goal of the game in the 24' minute on a penalty corner.
Third Goal: Zoe Furber netted her second goal of the season as she deflected a pass from Poppy Lambert (5) on a penalty corner to get the Black Bears back to within one before halftime.
The River Hawks netted their third goal of the contest in the 41' minute.
UMass Lowell scored their fourth goal of the afternoon in the 53' minute.
The River Hawks capped off the scoring in the 55' minute with their fifth goal of the contest.
Notes on the Game:
- Poppy Lambert made it seven-straight games with a point for the Black Bears.
- Rozárie Mrázová picked up six saves in net for the Black Bears.
- UMass Lowell outshot the Black Bears 18-9.
- Corners were 5-4 in favor of the River Hawks on the afternoon.
Next time out: Maine will host Holy Cross on Sunday, Oct. 13 at Noon in Orono. That game will be Maine's annual Cancer Awareness Game so all fans are asked to wear pink and there will be pink themed giveaways at the marketing table.
