Orono, ME - The University of Maine field hockey team announced its 2023 promotional schedule on Tuesday afternoon.

The Black Bears will begin the 2023 season at home with an exhibition on Saturday, Aug. 19. There will be a team poster giveaway and a post game autograph session on the field.

Maine's regular season opener will be on Friday, Aug. 25 at 1 P.M. against Boston College. Along with another poster giveaway, all students in attendance will be entered into a raffle for a Maine Blanket and Hydroflask, which will be drawn in the fourth quarter of the game.

On Sunday, Aug. 27 the Black Bears will take on Providence in Back to School Day and Teacher Appreciation Day. All kids in attendance will be entered into a raffle to win a Maine backpack and all teachers in attendance will be recognized at halftime.

On Friday, Sept. 1 the Black Bears will be recognizing National Food Bank Day where all fans who donate a non-perishable food item will be part of a giveaway.

The Black Bears will hold Middle School Day in conjunction with their annual Cub Club Day on Sunday, Sept. 3. All kids will be able to do a meet and greet with the team post game along with an autograph session.

On the weekend of Sept. 8 and 10 against Northwestern and UMass, the Black Bears will be having their International Weekend and a Student Appreciation Day on Friday. On Sunday, the Black Bears will have their "M" Club Day. There will be snacks provided by the "M" Club for both games.

On Friday, Sept. 15 the Black Bears will celebrate National Field Hockey Day (Sept. 14) as part of their conference opening matchup against UC Davis.

Maine wraps up their conference opening weekend against Stanford on Sept. 17 where they will have their Blue Out game. The first 100 fans in attendance will be given a free T-shirt.

To conclude the stretch of 10-straight home games to begin the season, Maine will have their Faculty Appreciation Day on Friday, Sept. 22. 

The Black Bears return to Orono on Friday, Oct. 6 for their Breast Cancer Awareness Game. All fans are encouraged to wear pink in support and there will be a face painting station, a bracelet giveaway and a pompom giveaway.

On Sunday, Oct. 15 the Black Bears will have their Black Bear Brunch as a part of Homecoming weekend. Concessions will provide breakfast sandwiches and there will be a Dunkin' Donuts gift card giveaway.

Maine will host Northeastern on Sunday, Oct. 22 and it will be Dog's Day Out. All fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the game and participate in our "Best in Show" contest, as well as a dog-themed giveaway to be announced at a later date.

Senior Day will be on Sunday, Oct. 29 as the Black Bears celebrate their seniors. There will be a Halloween costume contest where fans will get to cheer on their favorite costume at halftime. All kids in attendance will be entered into a giveaway.
