ORONO, Maine -- Rozárie Mrázová earned her first shutout of the season while Maine received goals from five different student-athletes to earn a 5-0 win over Boston University at Saturday afternoon's Senior Day game.
Maine, which completed the weekend sweep after tallying a 6-1 victory over Bryant on Friday, outshot the Terriers 14-5. Penalty corner attempts were even at 3-3.
Saylor Kuefler began the scoring when her one-timer off a feed from
Zoe Furber gave the Black Bears a 1-0 lead, 9:59 into the first quarter.
Geniti extended the lead to 2-0 when she cleaned up a loose ball rattling around in front of the keeper. For Geniti, the goal marked her sixth tally of the season.
Just 3:21 after the half, Maine's lead grew to 3-0 with a perfectly executed corner play.
Brynn Dzengelewski inserted to Kuefler who made the stop before
Nicole Kowalewski rifled a shot into the back of the cage.
Dzengelewski would get one of her own just under six minutes later. After she again inserted a corner, Dzengelewski sprinted to the left post where she would handle a rebound before depositing it into the cage for Maine's fourth goal of the day.
Furber scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season all on her own. Following a Terrier foul, Furber stopped and started the play before dribbling to her right and rocketing a shot past the Boston University keeper.
Mrázová made two saves to earn her first shutout of the year as the Black Bears captured a 5-0 victory.
Maine returns to action on Friday, Oct. 24 when it hosts UMass Lowell in the final regular season home game for the Black Bears. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
