Orono, ME - The America East Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon that University of Maine shortstop, Jake Rainess was named the America East Player of the Week for his performances in a 4-0 week for the Black Bears.

Rainess, a native of Baltimore, MD, earned his first America East weekly award of the 2023 season as he was dominant out of the leadoff spot for the Black Bears. He slashed .571/.667/1.500 for the Black Bears. He hit three home runs, recorded three RBI's, one double, eight runs scored and stole 10 bases.

Maine (21-12, 11-1 AE) will return to conference matchups following a pair of midweek games against Merrimack College. They travel to UMass Lowell for three games starting on Friday, Apr. 28.
