Orono, ME - The America East Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon that University of Maine second basemen, Quinn McDaniel, was named the America East Player of the Week for his performances against Winthrop in a 1-2 weekend for Maine.

McDaniel, a native of Elliot, ME, have been one of the hottest hitters in the country to begin the 2023 season and he continued his torrid stretch into the weekend against Winthrop.

He slashed .625/.812/1.625 on the weekend, drawing seven walks and not striking out in the series against Winthrop. He hit two home runs, two doubles, stole one base, had 3 RBI's and five runs scored on the weekend.

McDaniel currently leads the America East in batting average (.480), SLG% (.920), OBP (.723), OPS (1.643), runs scored (18) and walks drawn (20).

Maine is back in action on Friday, Mar. 10 as they travel to Maryland for a three-game series against Maryland.
