Brighton, MA – The University of Maine baseball program battled late into the contest against #22 Boston College on Tuesday afternoon.

Scoring Plays:
Troy Carpenter plated the first run of the day for Maine as he singled home
Quinn Murphy (1B) on a ball to left field.
Brody Rasmussen plated the second run of the opening frame on a sac fly to left field, scoring
Juju Stevens (E3).
Chris Bear tied the game up at 3-3 in the seventh inning as he hit a sac fly to right field, scoring
Drew Reynolds (BB).
Two batters later, Stevens gave Maine the lead with an RBI single to center field, bringing home
Nolan DeAndrade (1B).
Pitching Breakdown:
Thomas Stabley went four and 2/3 in the start against the #22 team in the country, allowing three runs on two hits, two walks and striking out three batters.
Sebastian Holt pitched an inning and a 1/3 in relief, allowing no runs on a hit and a walk.
Tommy Martin began the seventh inning on the mound, allowing a run on one hit and striking out one.
Owen Wheeler (0-4) pitched the eighth inning for the Black Bears as he took the loss in relief, allowing three runs on two hits, a walk and a strikeout in 1/3 of an inning of work.
Brennan Rumpf pitched the remainder of the eighth inning, allowing no runs on two hits and a strikeout in 2/3 of an inning of work.
