Mia Borley Named NFHCA Division I National Defensive Player of the Week

Borley had a 2-0 weekend with 19 saves for the Black Bears

ORONO, ME - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced on Wednesday morning that University of Maine goalkeeper, Mia Borley, was named the Division I National Defensive Player of the Week for her performances against UNH and UAlbany.

Borley, a native of Durham, England, turned in a career weekend against the Wildcats of UNH and the Great Danes of UAlbany to help propel Maine to a 2-0 start in conference play. She racked up five save against UNH in the 5-1 win on Friday, Sep. 23. Borley then turned in her best performance of the season as she registered 14 saves in the 2-1 shootout win against UAlbany on Sunday, Sep. 25.

Borley was named the America East Defender of the Week on Tuesday, Sep. 27.
