ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine softball team and new head coach,
Jordan Fitzpatrick, hit the road for a 13-game road trip throughout the state of Utah. The team will make stops in St. George, Provo, Orem, and Logan before flying back to Maine.

The Black Bears went 0-4 in their second weekend of play during the 2022 season, which moved their record to 1-8 after two plane trips.

Keely Clark continues to lead the way at the plate. The senior is 8 for 18 (.444) with three RBI over eight total games played. Clark has also only committed one error in 25 chances behind the plate.
Kelby Drews is tied for the team lead in hit (nine) while sporting a .333 batting average. To go along with her one home run, the infielder has driven in three runs.
Kya Enos leads the team in RBI (nine), at bats (31), triples (three), doubles (three), and is tied for the team lead in hits (nine).

Gabby Papushka continues to find success in her first collegiate season. The freshman has logged seven hits, two home runs, and five RBI over nine games played.
Mariah Pearson and
Grace McGouldrick have combined for nine hits and five RBI in the short season. The mix of veterans and freshmen will continue to round into shape before the year shifts to conference play.

Gabbie Siciliano,
Emily Reid, and
Alexandra Gruitch all made appearances over the first nine games of the newly minted season. Siciliano continues to lead the way with a 3.26 ERA, one win, one complete game, and two strikeouts over 19.1 total innings.
