The Award is Borley's Third of the Season
Orono, ME - The America East Conference announced on Tuesday morning that University of Maine field hockey goalkeeper, Mia Borley, was named the conferences Defensive Player of the Week for her performances on Sep. 30 and Oct. 2.
Borley, a native of Durham, England, led the Black Bears to a 2-0 weekend as she was perfect in net. She shutout the Riverhawks of UMass Lowell on Friday, picking up six saves before shutting out Merrimack over 30 minutes played on Sunday.Â
Borley was won the Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks for the America East, her third overall on the season.Â
Maine is back in action in Orono on Friday, Oct. 7 as they look to keep the seven-game win-streak going against conference opponent California. That game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 P.M.
