ALBANY, N.Y. -- The University of Maine women's soccer team was defeated by the Vermont Catamounts, 1-0, on Thursday evening at the Mahaney Diamond.
 
First Goal (UAlbany 1-0): With 12 minutes remaining in the first half, the Great Danes scored the only goal of the America East match-up. Jasmine Colbert found the back of the net for UAlbany after receiving a pass from Sophia Eifler. The 1-0 lead stood for the home squad as they knocked off the University of Maine Black Bears.
 
Maine recorded 11 total shots to UAlbany's 13 while the Black Bears recorded two corner kicks.
 
Susannah Gaines recorded Maine's shot on goal.
 
Kira Kutzinski turned away six shots during the road conference contest.
 
Next: The Black Bears are back on the pitch Sunday, October 10th against Stony Brook. The conference bout is scheduled to kick-off at 12:00 pm.
