The Rams picked up a 1-0 win at the URI Soccer Complex.

KINGSTON, R.I. – The University of Maine women's soccer team fell at Rhode Island, 1-0, on Wednesday night at the URI Soccer Complex. The contest marked the season opener for both squads.

After a scoreless 74 opening minutes, the Rams capitalized on a corner kick in the 75th minute. The Black Bears responded with an offensive onslaught - including ringing one off the crossbar - but were unable to find an equalizer.

Maine had the 5-3 edge in shots on goal.
The Black Bears had a 4-3 lead in corner kicks.
Elena Barenberg made two saves for Maine.
Maine is now 9-12-3 in the all-time series with Rhode Island.
Meghan Bernetti, Luise Reinwald and Olivia Grisdale played the full 90 minutes for Maine.
