Box Score ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team fell to the #5 Northeastern Huskies on homecoming, 3-0.
For the Huskies, they got going early into the second period when Maddie Mills scored her second of the season. Peyton Anderson (1) and Brooke Hobson (2) picked up assists.
The Huskies would strike again on a goal by Andrea Renner, her first of the season. Skylar Irving (1) picked up the assist.
Northeastern's Tessa Ward would ice the game late into the 3rd when she scored an empty netter. The goal was her first of the season.
The Huskies were led by the Aerin Frankel in net with 34 saves in the shutout victory.
UMaine was kept in the contest by
Loryn Porter, who registered 36 saves on 38 shots faced in net.Â
The Black Bears head on the road for Hockey East games until Nov. 17, when they will return to Alfond Arena.
