ORONO, Maine - The Black Bears will resume conference play this weekend in Stony Brook, New York after going 0-3 in conference to first-place Binghamton last weekend. The Black Bears come into the series with an overall record of 15-20, while the Seawolves are 17-21

Last Time Out
After going 2-3 last week, the Black Bears started off the week by facing off with UMaine-Presque Isle, defeating the Owls 8-1 on Tuesday evening. Trevor DeLaite got the win for Maine, going 3.0 innings in relief, allowing two hits and a walk, but struck out five, giving up no runs. Christopher Bec led the way for Maine with three RBIs on two hits, while Jonathan Bennett tallied two RBIs on one hit.
Maine So Far
Maine comes into this series with an overall record of 15-20, going 9-5 so far in the month of April. They are led by Junior Catcher Chris Bec, who has a team-high .372 batting average and 48 hits. Sophomore shortstop Jeremy Pena has been swinging the bat well as of late, as he now leads the team in RBIs with 20, chipping in with a .273 batting average. Senior right-fielder Tyler Schwanz has hit three home runs this season, he is batting .246 on the season. Junior Catcher/DH Jonathan Bennett has made his presence known in his first year in the America East, as he leads the team in conference batting average at .323 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Scouting the Seawolves
Stony Brook boasts a 5-7 conference record with victories over UMass Lowell, Albany, and Hartford. Most recently, the Seawolves faced off against in a mid-week double header with Fairfield, which saw the Stags take both games in the double header, 2-1 and 1-0. Stony Brook is led by Toby Handley, who leads the team with 48 hits and .345 batting average on the season. Dylan Resk has had a hot bat this season with a team-high 10 home runs; he has 21 total RBIs and bats .258. Casey Baker leads the team in RBIs with 30, he is currently batting .311 on the season.

May Homecoming
In the month of May, the Black Bears will host a conference series every weekend leading up to the America East Championship. Along with those three series, the Black Bears will host Colby College on May 3rd, and will travel for one game with BC on the 16th.
