Box Score Maine capped off their weekend series with Vermont in Burlington with a Saturday matinee game. The Black Bears looked to get back on track after losing the previous night 6-2.<br />

Maine started out battling in a back and forth game that saw the Black Bears and Catamounts trade chances with both teams unable to solve Lekkas and McGovern, respectively.<br />
 <br />
Brendan Robbins opened the scoring for Maine partway through the second period on an absolute missile from the high slot over top of Lekkas's glove. The goal was assisted by
Sam Becker and
Keith Muehlbauer and carried Maine to a 1-0 lead. Later in the frame, Pat Shea was able to convert on a rush opportunity, scoring low blocker, on assists from
Nolan Vesey and
Chase Pearson.<br />

The third period saw Vermont capitalize twice and force overtime. Tom Forgione, assisted by Lodermeier and Bowen, scored the first goal for Vermont. Vermont then was able to tie the game on a seeing eye shot from Lodermeier as a
Blaine Byron penalty had just expired.<br />

Both goalies remained perfect through overtime. Sophomore goaltender
Rob McGovern made 43 saves on 45 shots, while Stefanos Lekkas of Vermont made 24 saves on 26 shots.<br />

The Black Bears return to Cross Insurance Arena for a Thanksgiving weekend non-conference matchup vs. Brown. Puck drop is set for 7pm in Portland.<br />
