2013: Saw action in all 13 games ... notched 35 tackles (23 unassisted), 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception, eight pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble ... carried a fake punt for 41 yards at Villanova ... had an interception in Maine's FBS victory at UMass (9/7) ... Recorded four tackles, 0.5 for loss, against Bryant (9/14) ... Tallied four tackles with a pass breakup against Stony Brook (11/2) ... made a personal season-high six stops with a forced fumble at Albany (11/9) ... recovered a fumble in Maine's NCAA playoff game against New Hampshire (12/7) ... Ranked ninth in the CAA in fumble recoveries per game (0.15).

2012: Saw action in all 11 games... recorded 67 tackles, one for a loss while intercepting one pass for a touchdown and deflecting six others... notched three tackles and a pass breakup in the opening game at Boston College (9/8)... recorded four tackles, one for a loss and a 77-yard interception return for a touchdown at Bryant (9/15)... made 13 tackles against Albany (9/22)... recorded seven tackles vs. Villanova (9/29)... made eight tackles at Delaware (10/6)... recorded six tackles and a pass deflection at Towson (10/13)... made eight tackles against UNH (10/20)... made three tackles and deflected two passes at William and Mary (10/27)... recorded nine tackles against James Madison (11/3)... recorded three tackles against Georgia State (11/10)... notched three tackles and deflected two passes at Rhode Island (11/17)

2011: Saw action in all 13 games...notched 16 tackles (13 ST, 3 AT), 1.0 sack (-9 yards), one interception and one pass break up...made a pair of solo tackles at Pittsburgh (9/10)...made two tackles, including a sack (-9 yards) against Rhode Island (10/15)...had two solo stops at Villanova (10/29)...broke up a pass and had a solo tackle against Towson (11/5)...made first career interception in Maine’s First Round Playoff game at Appalachian State (12/3)...named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award winner.

 

2010: Sat out the season as a redshirt, has four years of eligibility remaining.

BEFORE MAINE/PERSONAL: Played wide receiver, defensive back and returned kicks and punts for coaches T. Roger Wrenn and Chris Smalls at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute . . . was a team captain . . . named the Offensive Player of the Year as well as earning the Varsity Football Orange Bowl Award and the Varsity Tradition Award . . . led his team to a 9-1 record and the city championship . . . also played baseball and ran track . . . helped lead the baseball team to three city championships and led the track team to a state runner-up finish . . . a four-year member of his school’s Honor Roll . . . born April 23, 1993 . . . son of Roshe and Bakeer Al-Mateen . . . a business management major.
