Eight former Black Bears competing professionally overseas

ORONO, Maine -- Eight former members of the University of Maine women's basketball team are currently active at the professional level overseas.
  • Chantel Charles ('16)
    • 10 years of professional experience and preparing to begin her 11th season overseas
    • Played for Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters in England's top league in 2025-26 where her team went 15-3 and captured both the regular season and tournament championship
    • Averaged 3.2 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists
  • Mikaela Gustafsson ('16)
    • 10 years of professional experience and preparing to begin her 11th season overseas
    • Played for Sodertalje in Sweden's top league in 2025-26 where she helped guide the team to a runner-up showing in the league
    • Named to Eurobasket.com's All-Damligan Swedish Third Team after averaging 11 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists
    • Participated in the Women's National Team 3-on-3 camp
  • Sigi Koizar ('17)
    • Nine years of professional experience and preparing to begin her 10th season overseas
    • Played for Raiffeisen Duchess Klosterneuburg in Austria's top league in 2025-26 where she guided the team to an 18-0 mark and both a regular season and postseason title
    • Averaged 16.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 2.2 steals
    • Earned the Cup MVP
    • Was named the guard of the year and a four-time player of the week
    • Earned Eurobasket.com All-Damligan Austrian First Team honors and was named to the Eurobasket.com All-Damligan Defensive Team
    • Ranked third in the league in scoring, seventh in rebounding, and led the league in assists
    • Represented Austria on the Senior National Team for the European Qualifiers in 2025-26 where she guided Austria to a 5-1 mark, qualifying them for the second round to be held in November ('26)
    • Averaged 11.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and team-high 6.0 assists at the qualifiers
  • Blanca Millan ('20)
    • Five years of professional experience and preparing to begin her sixth season overseas
    • Competed for Baxi Ferrol (LF Endesa) last year where she averaged 9.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.2 steals
    • In the Eurocup, averaged 12.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals while shooting 51.4 percent from three-point range and guiding Baxi Ferrol to a 4-1 mark in the cup
    • Competing this summer for Spain (Madrid) in the 3-on-3 tournament this summer where she led Spain to a win to advance them to the next round
    • Will compete for Azul Marino Sant Josep Palma de Mallorca in 2026-27
  • Fanny Wadling ('20)
    • Five years of professional experience and preparing to begin her sixth season overseas
    • Played for Lulea Basket in Sweden's top league in 2025-26 where she guided the team to a 22-2 mark while averaging 11.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 2.7 steals
    • Led team to postseason and regular season titles
    • Named league Player of the Year, Domestic Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Forward of the Year
    • Named to Eurobasket.com's All Damligan Swedish Domestic Team, Swedish First Team, and All-Defensive Team
    • Represented Sweden on the Senior National Team
    • Participated in the Women's National Team camp earlier this spring
  • Anne Simon ('24)
    • Two years of professional experience and preparing to begin her third season overseas
    • Played for Magnolia La Molisana Campobasso in Italy's Serie A1 (top league in Italy) in 2025-26
    • Averaged 11.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.0 steals in 2025-26
    • In the Eurocup with Campobasso, averaged 8.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.9 steals
    • Led team to Italian Supercup semifinals
    • Named to Eurobasket.com All Italian League Bosmans Team and All Italian League Second Team
    • Represented Luxembourg on the Senior National Team for the European Qualifiers where she averaged 14 points, four rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.3 steals; led Luxembourg in both scoring and assists
  • Adrianna Smith ('26)
    • Played her first season professionally this past spring for Dandendong (NBL1) and will compete for Jolly Acli Basket Livorno in Italy next season
    • Averaged 18.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.9 steals for Dandendong and earned Player of the Week honors in round seven
  • Dor Saar
    • Four years of professional experience and preparing to begin her fifth season overseas
    • Played for Maccabi Bnot Ashdod in Israel's top league in 2025-26
    • Averaged 13.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 41.7 percent from three-point range and averaging 37.5 minutes per game
    • Ranked second in the league in assists and led team to a regular season runner-up showing
    • Represented Israel on the Senior National Team for the European Qualifiers, guiding the team to a 6-0 mark
