Women's Basketball announces the addition of Taylor Schwab

Schwab, a 5-9 guard, transfers to Maine from Arizona Christian University

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's basketball team has announced the addition of Taylor Schwab. Schwab, a junior transfer, will be eligible to join the Black Bears for the 2026-27 season.

Schwab, a 5-9 guard from Gig Harbor, Wash., transfers to Maine after spending the past two seasons at Arizona Christian University. In two seasons with the Firestorm at ACU, Schwab appeared in 56 games with 28 starts while averaging 11.1 points 3.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.6 steals while shooting 37.6 percent from the floor and 31.0 percent from three-point range.

Last season, Schwab started all 28 games for the Firestorm and averaged 16.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.9 steals with a 32.0 percent mark from downtown. Schwab posted double-figure scoring efforts in 25 games including a season-high 25 in which she knocked down five triples. The 25 point performance was the first of eight 20-plus scoring marks on the year for Schwab.

Prior to joining Arizona Christian University, Schwab excelled at Gig Harbor high school where she played three season of varsity basketball. During her three-year high school career, she averaged 23.6 points, six rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 3.5 steals. Schwab guided the team to the playoffs in each of her seasons and earned first team all-league honors.
