Orono, Maine -- The America East Conference announced on Tuesday morning that
Hunter St. Denis of the University of Maine baseball program was named the Rookie of the Week following a non-conference weekend against Northeastern and Merrimack.
St. Denis, a freshman out of Laytonsville, MD, hit .500 and drove in seven runs in a 2-1 weekend for the Black Bears. He started off his weekend by going 2-for-3 and driving in four of the five runs in a 5-0 win over Northeastern. He followed up the performance by driving in another three runs on Sunday against Merrimack on a 3-for-5 day before concluding the weekend with another hit in the final game of the weekend.
The honor was his second of the season and the sixth Rookie of the Week honor that the Black Bears have earned as a whole on the season.
