Weekly Honors -- The Black Bears have made it three-straight weeks to open the 2026 season that at least one Black Bear has earned an America East weekly honors.
Jack Donlin and
Troy Carpenter earned Pitcher and Rookie of the Week on opening weekend, respectively, before Carpenter earned Rookie of the Week in week two for back-to-back honors.
Rex Hauser earned the honor of Rookie of the Week most recently in week three where he had a 3.000 OPS with a pair of home runs and four RBIs.
Leadoff Power -- Juju Stevens leads the America East with a 1.276Â OPS through the first three weeks of the season, a number he is putting up from the leadoff spot in the batting order for the Black Bears. His five home runs lead the conference and his .350 batting average is the sixth-best mark in the conference.
Last Time Out -- The Black Bears were swept by Winthrop in their last series. Maine battled back in game one of the series after trailing 5-0 in the early innings, drawing within one run in the sixth inning before falling, 7-4. The Black Bears then were tied through five innings in game two before a big sixth inning from Winthrop iced the game at 7-2. The Black Bears concluded the weekend being all square heading into the bottom of the eighth inning before three runs came into score and Winthrop coming away with the victory, 9-6.
Quick Glance at Dayton -- Dayton is 9-3 in the early part of the season, including a 5-1 record at home. Grayson Carpenter leads the Flyers with a .440 batting average while Martin Howell leads the team with 19 RBIs. John Delgado paces the pitching staff with 15 strikeouts.
