OCALA, Fla. --
Joey Stauss set a new mark in the 100-yard IM to highlight Maine's performance at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship, hosted at the FAST complex in Ocala, Fla. on March 12-14.
Stauss placed sixth overall in the 100-yard butterfly with a new school record time of 47.21. He added a seventh place showing in the 100-yard IM at 49.29 and finished 12th in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 21.55. Stauss also competed in the 50-yard freestyle, placing 50th in the prelim 20.98.
Noah Machristie placed 15th in the 400-yard IM at 4:02.63 and posted the 22nd best mark (45.06) in the 100-yard freestyle prelim.
Nathaniel Teerlinck finished 23rd in the 50-yard breaststroke prelim at 25.42, missing the qualifying cut by just 0.07. He added a 29th place mark in the 100-yard breaststroke at 55.55.
Julian LaPietra came in 22nd in the 100-yard freestyle prelim (45.06) and 34th in the 50-yard freestyle prelim, touching the wall at 20.66.
Stauss, Machristie, Teerlinck, and LaPietra teamed up to place 22nd in the 400-yard medley relay at 3:21.84.
