Preview: Baseball Heads to Nebraska for Three Game Series

Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine baseball program will take on Nebraska for three games beginning on Friday, March 13.

Game One - Friday March 13
First Pitch will be at 7 PM EST, 6 PM CT -- Game will be streamed on B1G+ and Live Stats will be available
Projected Starters: Jason Krieger (0-3, 8.85 ERA) vs Ty Horn (2.1, 5.40 ERA)

Game Two - Saturday, March 14
First pitch will at 2 PM EST, 1 PM CT -- Game will be streamed on B1G+ and Live Stats will be available
Projected Starters: Vaun Larisa (0-1, 5.23 ERA) vs John Delgado (1-0, 1.64 ERA)

Game Three - Saturday, March 14
First pitch will be approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game Two -- Game will be streamed on B1G+ and Live Stats will be available
Projected Starters: Gianni Gambardella (1-3, 9.16 ERA) vs Gavin Blachowicz (2-1, 2.41 ERA)

Weekly Honors -- The Black Bears have made it four-straight weeks to open the 2026 season that at least one Black Bear has earned an America East weekly honors. Jack Donlin and Troy Carpenter earned Pitcher and Rookie of the Week on opening weekend, respectively, before Carpenter earned Rookie of the Week in week two for back-to-back honors. Rex Hauser earned the honor of Rookie of the Week in week three before Hunter St. Denis got the honor in week four with a .400/.500/1.121 slash line with two home runs, four runs and five RBIs.

Conference Leaders -- The Black Bears, who have hit the 43rd most home runs in the NCAA through the first four weeks with 24, a number that is 14 home runs higher than the second place spot in the America East. Maine has an individual near the top of almost every single offensive category in the America East as a result of their strong start to the season at the plate. Carpenter is tied for the league lead with 15 RBIs while Juju Stevens leads the conference with six home runs and 19 hits. Stevens also leads the America East with a 1.218 OPS and is tied for the league lead with five doubles, followed by Brody Rasmussen who is tied for third in the America East with four. Rex Hauser is tied with Stevens with a .750 SLG%, the top mark in the conference.

Last Time Out -- The Black Bears were swept by Dayton last time out, 12-5 in game one, 10-9 in game two and 14-8 in game three. Troy Carpenter had an RBI in every game of the series while Quinn Murphy hit a pair of home runs and had four RBIs. St. Denis led the Black Bears with a five RBIs and also had a two home run.

Series History -- This will be the first three matchups between these two programs.
