Orono, Maine -- The America East Conference announced on Tuesday morning that Troy Carpenter of the University of Maine baseball program was named the Rookie of the Week in the conference.

Carpenter, a native of Kathleen, GA, earns his second-straight rookie of the week honor as he had a 1.089 OPS in a 1-3 weekend at High Point for the Black Bears. He hit a pair of home runs on the weekend, one in the first game of the Saturday doubleheader and one in the second game of the doubleheader. He also had six RBIs during the series and collected a hit in three of the four games.
