ORONO, Maine - Former University of Maine men's ice hockey player Jeremy Swayman has been named to the 2026 United States Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team, as announced on Friday morning by USA Hockey.
Swayman, who spent three seasons as a Black Bear from 2017-2020, was one of three goaltenders selected for the Milan Cortina games. Swayman will be a first-time Olympian.
The Anchorage, Alaska native most recently represented the United States at the 2025 IIHF World Championship this past spring. Swayman undefeated in seven games, earning a gold medal and posting a 1.69 goals against average and a .921 save percentage. He was also selected to represent the United States at the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off. Previously, Swayman played for the United States at the 2022 World Championship and was part of the bronze-winning team at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship.
Swayman has appeared in 218 career NHL games, all with the Boston Bruins. He owns a career record of 116-72-24 with a 2.61 goals against average and a .910 save percentage. He has played in 28 games this season for Boston, going 15-10-2 with a 2.84 goals against average and a .904 save percentage.
