ORONO, Maine -- Maine concludes its three-game road stretch on Saturday at 4 p.m. when it travels to Vermont looking for a season sweep of the Catamounts after earning a 45-39 victory over Vermont earlier this season.
The Black Bears have won four in a row against Vermont including 57-55 decision in their last trip to Burlington. The game matches second-seeded Vermont with third-seeding Maine.

Caroline Bornemann registered a game-high 21 points as the Black Bears came up short at UMBC by a final of 71-53. The loss slips Maine back to 12-12 overall and 7-4 in America East action while UMBC climbs to 12-10, 5-5 in league play.
Bornemann, who has posted 20-plus points in back-to-back outings, shot 7-of-15 from the floor with three triples to go along with five rebounds.
Paula Gallego joined Bornemann in double-digits with 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
The difference was on the foul line where UMBC finished the day 23-of-24 from the stripe.
A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
On the heels of a five-game win streak, the Black Bears currently find themselves in a two-game losing skid with road loses at NJIT and UMBC. The Black Bears are led by
Caroline Bornemann who has posted 20+ points in back-to-back games and enters play ranked among the top-five in the America East in scoring (12.9 - 5th), rebounding (7.8 - 2nd), and field goal percentage (45.7 - 4th). Bornemann currently sits just four points away from moving into 23rd on Maine's all-time scoring list (1,102) and is just the 16th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 points and 600 rebounds in a career.
Caroline Dotsey has been Maine's spark off the bench as she ranks 10th in the league in scoring at 10.7 points per game with double-digit scoring in five of her last seven. In conference only action, Bornemann (15.2 ppg) and Dotsey (11.5) rank fourth and sixth, respectively, in scoring average while Bornemann's 8.4 rebounds per game lead the league in the category.
Paula Gallego is Maine's table-setter, checking in second in the league at 3.8 assists per game and tops in America East with a 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio. Sticking with conference only action, Maine leads all nine America East programs in scoring as it is averaging 61.8 points per game against conference foes with league-highs of 33.0 percent from three-point range and 7.0 triples per outing. Overall, Maine's offense ranks third in the league (60.6) while defensively the Black Bears are seventh at 59.3 points surrendered. Maine's 8.1 triples per game still rank atop the league, 37th nationally, while its 24.5 attempts from outside the arc are a league-high and 39th nationally. Maine is 2-4 on the road in league play and 5-0 at home.
A LOOK AT VERMONT:
The Catamounts, 8-2 at home this season, have won nine of their last 10 with the one loss coming in Orono to Maine. Vermont, coming off a 55-46 win at New Hampshire on Thursday evening led by Nikola Priede's career-high 15 points. Anna Olson leads the Catamounts at 13.7 points per game to rank fourth best in the conference in scoring. Keira Hanson is adding 9.1 points per game while Bella Vito is adding 7.9 points and ranks fourth in the league at 6.2 rebounds per outing. Vermont boasts the league best defense, holding opponents to just 54.0 points per game
SERIES WITH VERMONT:
Maine and Vermont square off for the second time in just over two weeks after Maine earned a 45-39 decision in Orono back on Feb. 1. The 39 points were a season-low for the Catamounts. Maine outscored Vermont 8-3 in the final quarter to secure the win behind 11 points each from Blauenfeldt and
Sarah Talon. This meeting will mark the 106th all-time meeting between the two teams. Maine swept the regular season series last year against the Catamounts, winning 60-48 in Orono before earning a 57-55 road win in Burlington. Maine defeated Vermont, 64-48, i last season's America East title game. Maine has won 14 of the last 16 meetings. The Black Bears currently hold a 69-36 advantage in the all-time series, having won 21 of the last 24 meetings. Maine is 39-24 on the road against the Catamounts.
