ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's basketball team kicks off December by hosting Boston University on Monday evening at 6 p.m. live on NESN. Tickets for Monday evening's contest remain available and can be purchased at

Monday's home game can be seen regionally on NESN and nationally on

GoBlackBears.com and on 92.9 FM. The Black Bears, who are in the middle of playing nine of 11 away from Orono, return home to take on former conference rival Boston University in the 76th all-time meeting between the two programs.

The Black Bears will join forces with Marden's Surplus and Salvage for a sock drive during Monday evening's game. Fans are asked to bring socks to the game and distribute them in bins located in the lobby area. Socks collected will go to support local organizations in need.

Adrianna Smith tallied Maine's first triple-double since 2015 as the Black Bears earned a 69-46 win over Saint Francis to close out the Turkey Tip-Off on Saturday afternoon.
Smith finished her day with 19 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists for Maine's first triple-double since Liz Wood accomplished the feat in 2015. Smith added four blocks to her historic performance. Smith led four Black Bears in double-figures with
Kaliyah Sain adding 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting while
Asta Blauenfeldt and
Sarah Talon each tallied 10. For Blauenfeldt, the scoring mark stretched her double-figure scoring streak to 12-straight.
The Black Bears finished with one of their best shooting performances of the year, hitting 28-of-56 from the floor and 8-of-11 from the free throw stripe.
A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
The Black Bears return home for the first time since earning a 79-53 win over Stonehill on Nov. 17 and look to string together two-straight home victories. Maine is led by
Adrianna Smith who is fresh off registering Maine's first triple-double (19 pts/13 rebs/10 asts) since 2015 in the win over Saint Francis. Smith ranks second in the America East in scoring (17.3), rebounding (9.4) and assists (5.3) with a league-high four double-doubles on the season.
Asta Blauenfeldt, riding a 12-game double-figure scoring streak, ranks 10th in the league in scoring at 13.9 points per game and has been Maine's top rated shooter all season, ranking sixth in the America East from three-point range (42.9) and eighth overall from the floor (51.5.
Kaliyah Sain is adding 9.6 points with a 28.2 percent clip from downtown while
Sarah Talon ranks 14th among league-leaders in rebounding (5.3) and 11th in steals (11) including a career-high five against UIC. Maine has posted 20+ assists in each of its two wins, including a season-high 24 helpers on 28 made buckets against Saint Francis. The Black Bears have won the turnover battle in six of their seven outings and check in second in the conference and 20th nationally with just 12.3 turnovers per game.
A LOOK AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY:
The Terriers, 3-4 on the season, are playing their third-straight game against an America East program after defeating UMass Lowell on Nov. 22 and falling to Bryant, 83-56, on Wednesday. Senior Anete Adler leads the Terriers at 13.4 points per game to go along with a team-best 5.3 rebounds. Bella Mclaughlin is adding 8.3 points and team-high 3.4 assists. The Terriers, picked eighth in the Patriot League preseason poll, returned almost 77 percent of its scoring offense from a year ago. Boston University currently ranks seventh in the Patriot League in scoring (55.9) and third in points allowed (59.9).
SERIES HISTORY VS. BOSTON UNIVERSITY:
Maine and Boston University, former America East conference foes, will meet for the 76th time in history, and the second in as may years. Maine holds a 41-34 edge in the all-time series. In last year's meeting, the Black Bears dropped a 67-57 decision on the road.
Asta Blauenfeldt led all scorers in the most recent meeting with 24 points in 9-of-11 shooting with four triples. Maine's last win in the series came on the road in 2021, a 59-57 decision which snapped a 12-game losing skid to the Terriers. Prior to that win, Maine's last victory came in 2008. Maine is 20-9 all-time at home against the Terriers. The Black Bears and BU have met 10 times in America East postseason play, splitting those games 5-5. Maine defeated BU, 68-43, in the 2004 America East title game.
