A finalist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award, Smith was named both the America East and ECAC Player of the Year. The forward also was named to the All-ECAC First Team, America East First Team, and America East All-Defensive Team.
A two-time America East Player of the Year and three-time first team all-conference honoree, Smith concluded the season as the America East leader in scoring (22.8), rebounding (10.7), and assists (4.7). She posted 20 double-doubles, including in 11-straight games to close the season, and became only the eighth player in NCAA Division I women's basketball since 1982 to average 20+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 4.0+ assists in a season. She is also just the fourth player in history to record 700+ points, 300+ rebounds, and 140+ assists in a single season. After tallying her 1,000th rebound earlier this year, she became the only player (male or female) in America East history to reach 1,000 points, 1,00 rebounds, and 400 assists in a career.
Smith, who posted double-digit scoring efforts in 31 of Maine's 32 games, produced 20 or more points 23 times and registered 30 or more points in five games. She was named the America East Player of the Week seven times this season.
