ORONO, Maine -- As part of the Holiday season, the University of Maine women's basketball team requests your assistance in supporting two giving drives to help the Orono / Bangor community in December.

Dec. 1 vs. Boston University - Sock Drive, presented by Marden's
The Black Bears will join forces with Marden's Surplus and Salvage for a sock drive. Fans are asked to bring socks to the game and distribute them in bins located in the lobby area. Socks collected will go to support local organizations in need.Â

Dec. 7 vs. Rhode Island – Warmth Drive
The women's basketball team joins forces with UMaine Golden Key to help support the annual warmth drive. Fans attending the game are asked to donate new or gently used winter apparel to keep local children warm this winter season. All donations will be distributed to local elementary and middle schools. Items to be donated may include hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, and warm socks.
