KINGSTON, R.I. -- The University of Maine women's swimming & diving team stands in fifth place with 145 points after two days of competition at the Harold Anderson Invitational.
Maine's team of
Amelia Obszarny,
Elle Cadigan,
Mia Poirier, and
Emily Yorkievitz teamed up to capture the Black Bears' top finish of the day, placing third in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:36.07.
Obszarny and
Maddie Ruppert posted Maine's top individual finishes of the day, each placing sixth. Obszarny placed sixth in the 50-yard freestyle at 24.17 while Ruppert took sixth in the 3-meter dive with a score of 235.60.
Charlotte Hoover finished eighth in the 200-yard IM at 2:09.79 while
Eva Welsh placed 10th in the event with a time of 2:07.44 in the 'B' final.
Nicolene Harkins added a 16th place showing to top Maine in the distance event, touching the wall at 5:11.64 in the 500-yard freestyle.
