LEXINGTON, Va. -- The University of Maine women's swimming & diving team placed sixth at the America East Championships with 314 points. The Black Bears broke three records on the final day of competition.
Nicki Harkins placed ninth in the 1650-yard freestyle with a school record time of 17:17.05.
Charlotte Hoover finished fourth in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:02.64. In the prelim of the event, Hoover set a new school record with a time of 2:02.41.
Amelia Obszarny came home 13th in the 200 backstroke at 2:05.98.
Eva Welsh set a new school record in the 200-yard breaststroke, placing fifth at 2:18.27.
Laura Dube and
Gabi Volpe tied for 10th in the event at 2:22.67.
Mia Poirier came home sixth in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:05.00 while
Macy Organ took 10th in the event at 2:08.48.
Poirier, Hoover, Harkins, and
Emily Yorkievitz finished fifth in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:29.37.
