Six-Straight for the Black Bears -- Maine has tied their longest win streak of the last 10 years as they have won six-straight contests heading into week 12 of the season. The last time the Black Bears had won seven straight contests was during the 2013 season, where they won seven-straight.
During the win streak, Maine is outscoring their opponents, 189-99, or by an average of 15 per game.
Last Time Out -- The Black Bears handled Hampton last time out, picking up their largest margin of victory of the season by the final score of 35-7.
The Black Bears scored the opening two touchdowns of the game, the first being the first collegiate touchdown for Ty'ee Stephens on a 21-yard reception, followed by a one-yard rushing touchdown by Rashawn Marshall, his first of two touchdowns in the game.
After a score by Hampton early in the second quarter, Maine would put by 21 unanswered points to close out the game, those coming on a six-yard reception by Marshall, a five-yard reception for Eli Mahan for his first score of the season and a 10-yard reception by Scott Woods for his fifth total touchdown of the season.
PEEVY IS IN THE ZONE
Carter Peevy is in a stretch of playing his best football over his past six performances he has thrown for 1,369 yards and 13 touchdowns over the past six games. He has added a team-best four rushing touchdowns to that line during that stretch while only having three turnovers.
He had a pair of passing touchdowns and added a third score on the ground against N.C. A&T before adding another three passing touchdowns at Bryant, where he threw for a career-best at Maine 338 yards. He added another rushing score at Merrimack, the game-winning touchdown before adding two more passing and one more rushing touchdown against Elon. He had a three-touchdown game against Stony Brook, throwing for two and rushing for another score before turning in his second-career game of four passing touchdowns last time out against Hampton.
Peevy was named to Co-Offensive Player of the Week in the CAA after the N.C. A&T matchup, one of four honors for the Black Bears on the season.
MARSHALL TOPS THE DEPTH CHART
Rashawn Marshall enters week 12 earning his spot atop the Black Bears running back depth chart after having accumulated over 350 yards from scrimmage in the last four games and three touchdowns.
He took 22 total touches at Merrimack and turned them into 168 yards, 146 of those being rushing yards, before generating another 159 yards against Elon, 141 of those being rushing yards.
His biggest play of the season came against Elon when he capped off the scoring for Maine with a 61-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. He was named the CAA Rookie of the Week following his Elon performance.
THOMAS CONTINUES HIS IMPACT
Christian Thomas looks to remain near the top of the CAA as he ranks fifth with 92 tackles, the 20th most in the NCAA.
He leads the Black Bears in tackles for loss (11), is the team leader in sacks (5) and leads the team in solo tackles with 45.
He was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week after the Elon matchup as he had nine tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack and recovered a fumble.
TOP OF THE DEPTH CHART
Scott Woods and Mo Irefin are the clear #1 and #2 wide receivers on the Black Bears and have both eclipsed 200 yards receiving during the six-game win streak for the Black Bears.
Woods leads Maine with 46 catches and 506 yards, trailed by Irefin's 32 receptions for 369 yards.
During the win streak, Woods has 29 catches for 387nyards and three touchdowns while Irefin has 22 catches for 255 yards and a touchdown.
O-LINE PRESENCE
The Black Bears offensive line is in position to roll out the same crew for the eighth-straight contest, those being: Kocan (LT), Iliano (RT), Cruji (C), Boutaugh (RG) and Stanley (LG).
This group has allowed only one sack in their last four contests, that being a QB scramble last time out against Hampton for a 1-yard loss.
For the season, the offensive line as a whole has only allowed 14 sacks in 10 games.
SAFETIES FORCING TAKEAWAYS
The safety group of Devin Vaught, Jake Kucera and Malcolm Folk have been leading the charge over the past eight games for the Black Bears as they have forced five takeaways over those games.
Vaught and Folk both forced takeaways as Georgia Southern, highlighted by a pick-6 from Vaught.
Kucera secured his first interception of his career two weeks later at Bryant before Vaught added a second interception to his season against Merrimack and a third against Elon.
EWING MAKES HISTORY
On November 1, Trevin Ewing became the all-time leader in kickoff return yards in program history as he has returned 2,334 yards (and counting) during his time at Maine.
